After Apple Picking- Robert Frost

If money was not an option I honestly would be a social worker. I love helping people, especially kids. I love waking up with the feeling I know I am going to make a difference in a child’s life that day. I want to help foster children get treated the way they deserve to be treated.  The poem “Apple Picking” by Robert Frost is about living your life with no regrets. Robert Frost uses various literary elements in the poem. The literary element I saw that he used was metaphors to convey a message of no regrets.
One of the metaphors that he used is “The woodchuck could say whether it’s like his long sleep/ as I describe it’s coming on/ or just some human sleep.”(L.40-43) Most individuals would look at this metaphor and automatically think that hibernation and human sleep is being compared. No, that is not what is being compared. In the poem Frost talks about apples and how there are bad apples that he has picked. In my opinion the bad apples would be his regrets or in other words the bad times he has had. Now when he talks about sleep he means eternal sleep or death. I read this metaphor really, really close and got this assumption. The assumption I got was that he wished before he died that he would have took the chance to pick that one good apple or got to experience that one great event.
This is another metaphor Frost had used in his poem.  “No matter if not bruised or spiked with stubble/ Went surely to the cider-apple heap/ As of no worth.” (L.34-36) I took this metaphor like the saying “when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade”. When he says “No matter if not bruised or spiked with stubble” that means no matter if the apple was good or bad, no matter if he had a good or bad experience, he still did what he could to make the best out of a bad situation, which would be making the lemonade.  I think that when you do this it leaves less room for regret. I say this because when you make the best out of a bad situation, things could turn around and benefit you.
I really enjoyed reading Robert Frost’s poem. Poetry normally does not have an effect on me but this one did. I actually took the time and read each line to understand his full message. I plan on making the best out of every situation and making lemonade each time I can. I believe living life with no regrets can give you the happiest experiences during your time on Earth. His poem has taught me even though I hit a rough patch of bad apples I still have to look forward to the patch of good apples right behind that. I do think Robert Frost lived with regrets and that is why his poem had some significance meaning.

I am me :)

"Is there anything you would change about your life? " I would honestly have to say no, I would not change a thing about my life. Some think I am crazy because I do not want to take back any sad, dark, painful memories. The worst mistake that I have made that I should want to take back but I do not would be trusting the wrong person with my heart. That bad relationship really took a tole on me.
I do not only look on the negative side of what happened. I look at the positive because it is what got me through. It taught me a lesson which I will never forget. I have learned to trust only a few, and those few are very special to me. Some are family but there is 5 people that I can honestly say I trust Sarah, Jasmine, Eva, Mackenzie and Dylan. These people know every move I make even before I make it. It is actually a good feeling to know that there is always someone there to back me up when things go wrong.
Today I am the "Ambra" I would want to be. The only way that was possible is if I moved on and got over the bad apple that I picked. I did this because there was many more good apples out there I just had to search and find them. I found 5 of them so far. I would not get rid of any my painful memories because that is what keeps me going on, when I am off track and need to get back on I will remember that time I got hurt and will just take a step back and realize what I am doing.
I am a product of my past not a prisoner of it, and I plan to keep it that way :)

Singing is Me :)

So I have always been asked " What is your favorite hobby? ". Well my favorite hobby would be singing. I love singing because it is my way of letting all of my problems go. Singing is a way of life for me. I do not know what I would be able to do if I could not sing any more. Now there is question on if I am any good. Well my answer to all of those people is I think I sound good and I feel happy when I sing so I am not going to stop.
One of my favorite things to sing would be....... One Direction. Now some of you may have seen that coming, but I absolutely love this band. I love singing One Direction songs because they have a song for every mood I am in.
When I was younger I never really sang as much as I do now. I definitely did not sound as good as I do now. Singing when I was little never seemed like a priority until 7th grade year. When I joined choir and absolutely could not do anything with out singing or dancing. Some times I feel like I overdo it but, I really do not care.
When you find that one thing you love to do and can not possibly bare the thought of not doing it you hold onto it. Well, that is kind of how I feel with singing. In my family there are so many of us that have a talent. Like my dad can draw and sing, my uncle has a band and plays almost every iinstrument. My talent however is singing.
This was not really part of my future plan, but it sort of just kind of happened which, I am very happy that it did :)

One Direction ♥

As most of my class know One Direction is my favorite band. I absolutely love One Direction, but I am not one of those stereotypical girls that just thinks they are cute. No, I love their music too. What some do not know is that One Direction did not start out as a group. They individually auditioned for the X-Factor a British version of American Idol. But towards the end of the season Simon Cowell one of the judges put Niall Horan ( my favorite member ), Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne into one group. They made it all the way until the third to last episode when they were eliminated.
I love all of One Direction's music. I really get into it and can relate to some of the songs. But then there are those songs where they are strictly just dancing songs. My favorite song is " More Than This ". It is a really awesome song. Niall Horan has a solo in this song and it is my favorite part because I can really understand what he is talking about. He say " If I am louder would you see me ". I can understand him when he says this because I feel like sometimes no matter how loud I talk people just do not hear or listen, even though I am THE loudest person in the room. It is okay because all I have to do is listen to One Direction and I feel like all of my problems are solved.
Most people think being obsessed with a band is crazy. I did as well until I listened to One Direction. You never really know how you are going to react to somebody or a song until you listen to it that person. I know I keep saying I love One Direction, it is true I do, but there is no words out there to describe their music. I believe their music is something only they can do. I think this because they have such a unique sound that it would be very hard to recreate. One Direction will be my favorite band until the day I take my last breath, they will have forever changed my life :)
I WILL BE A DIRECTIONER FOR LIFE ♥
